FAQs
What materials are used in the magnetic pin and clip dispenser?
The magnetic pin and clip dispenser is made from a high-quality, durable plastic for the body and contains a strong internal magnet. The plastic gives it a sturdy yet lightweight frame, and the magnet is what holds the pins and clips. The overall design is sleek and meant to look neat on your desk, while the materials ensure it can handle daily use (the plastic won’t easily crack, and the magnet is rust-proof and long-lasting).
How many pins and clips can the dispenser hold?
Our dispenser is designed to hold up to 100 standard-size pins (like push pins) or about 20–25 paper clips at once in the magnetic holder area. If you’re using smaller binder clips or other tiny magnetic items, it can hold a bunch of those too. The top magnetic surface keeps a good number handy for immediate use, and any extras can sit in the removable base compartment. It’s plenty of capacity for typical office or classroom needs.
Is the magnet strong enough to hold all the pins and clips securely?
Yes, the magnet in the dispenser is quite strong for its purpose. It will securely hold the pins and clips on the top of the dispenser so they don’t easily fall off even if the desk is bumped. If you overload it significantly beyond its intended capacity, excess pins might slide off simply due to crowding, but under normal loads (around 100 pins or a couple dozen clips) it holds them well. Additionally, the dispenser has a detachable compartment below – any extra pins or clips that you throw in there will naturally be caught by the magnet if they try to escape, or they stay in the cup, making the whole system tidy.
Can the dispenser be used with other small metallic items like tacks or staples?
Yes, the dispenser isn’t limited to just pins and paper clips. You can use it to hold other small metal office items such as drawing pins (tacks), staples (though staples are usually in strips, loose staples would stick), or binder clip handles. Basically, any little metal piece that a magnet can attract will stick to the top. It’s a handy catch-all for those tiny metal bits on your desk. Just keep in mind the size: very large binder clips won’t sit well on the tiny dispenser magnet area, but the small and medium ones are fine (their metal arms will stick).
Is the dispenser suitable for both home and office use?
Yes, the dispenser is designed to be useful in both home and office settings. Its purpose is to organize pins and clips, which is something needed on office desks, home study tables, craft rooms, classrooms – anywhere you use push pins or paper clips. The look is neutral and professional enough for an office, but also compact and convenient for home use. It provides a convenient way to keep these small items from scattering everywhere. In any setting, it helps maintain organization and keeps sharp pins safely corralled.
Does the dispenser come with any pins or clips included?
The dispenser typically does not come pre-filled with pins or clips (unless specified in a special bundle). It is sold as an empty organizer. This allows you to fill it with your preferred type of pins or paper clips. Many people already have a stash of pins/clips and just need a way to store them – that’s what this product provides. By not including pins or clips by default, we also keep the price focused on the organizer itself. Be sure to purchase or use your existing supply of paper clips or push pins to fill the dispenser when you receive it.
