How quickly does the correction fluid dry?
Depending on how thickly you apply it, our correction fluid usually dries to the touch in 10–20 seconds. A larger blobby area may take more than 20 seconds to dry, while a thin, single stroke will dry on the faster end of that range. You can quickly write over the corrected area and resume working without much downtime because it dries fairly quickly.
Are the correction products non-toxic and safe for use by children?
Yes, all of our correction supplies—tape, pen, and fluid—are safe for everyday use and non-toxic. They meet ASTM D-4236 and other safety standards. Although the fluids are made to avoid strong toxins, it is best to use correction fluid in an area with good ventilation because it does smell like a solvent. Because of the possibility of mess, we do not advise young children to use correction if it gets on their skin. It is safe, but they should ash it off instead of using wfluid or a pen unsupervised. Due to its dry process (no mess, no odour), the tape is extremely safe.
Do the correction products have any odor?
We use a formula with less odour than previous solvent-based fluids, so the correction fluid and pen (which contain fluid) have a low odour. When you use them, you'll notice a faint smell, similar to that of mild paint, but it's not overpowering or strong, and it goes away as the fluid dries. However, since the correction tape is essentially a dry adhesive tape with a coating, it has absolutely no smell. You may prefer the tape if you have a high sensitivity to smells. We would categorise the tape as odor-free and the fluid's odour as mild overall.
How long does the correction fluid last before it dries out in the bottle?
If properly stored, our correction fluid bottle can last up to two years. Always tightly close the bottle after use to extend its shelf life. If left open, the fluid within may thicken or evaporate. Although it usually lasts a long time if kept capped, you can occasionally revitalise it with a drop of the proper thinner if you notice it becoming a little thick over time (we sell a correction fluid thinner separately). Avoid intense heat as it may cause it to dry out more quickly; instead, keep it in a cool, dry location. A lot of consumers discover that they finish the bottle before it ever dries out.
Can the correction fluid be used on different types of paper?
Yes, you can use our correction fluid on almost any kind of paper. Standard notebook and copier paper, thicker cardstock or index cards, glossy magazine paper (although a second coat may be necessary for complete coverage on extremely glossy paper), and even thin-paper forms or documents can all be used with it. The fluid sticks to the paper surface and efficiently covers ink. For best results, wait until it dries completely before writing on top of it. It's a flexible formula designed for everyday office and school use, so it works with most types of paper.
Should I shake the correction fluid bottle before use?
Indeed, shaking the bottle of correction fluid before using it is a good idea, particularly if it has been sitting for some time. Shaking guarantees that the fluid's pigments are evenly distributed, providing you with good coverage. A tiny mixing ball may be audible inside the bottle; shake it until it moves freely and the fluid has a uniform texture. This will facilitate the fluid's smooth and opaque application. (If the correction pen is brand new, you can also shake it briefly before pressing the tip against paper to begin the flow.)
